We tried it all from tents to travel trailer. Travel trailers are too large and require large trucks and SUV's. They are hard on gas, hard on vehicles and hard on the nerves when driving in hill country and mountains. Pop-up campers were next on the list. Canvas that leaks and needs dried/aired out after every trip. Have you ever tried getting mold out of canvas? Been there, done that. Good luck setting up a pop-up camper in a parking lot, rest area or roadside park for a snack, lunch or a quick nap. Some campgrounds don't even allow them due to their soft canvas sides (can we all say BEAR!!!) |
| Then we stumbled upon the Teardrop Camping Trailer. Small and compact. Light and easy to tow. But with traditional teardrop campers we are dealing with a design that is over 70 years old. Cars and even trucks in the 1930's and 40's had much less power than even todays smallest cars. Dramatic changes have occurred in styling and technology.
